The rainy season is here, and it does exactly what it says on the tin. June is the only month with no public holidays - usually it's too hot and damp to do anything but work - but this year the unpleasant stickiness is a few weeks late. The walls of my flat are being shaken by thunder. This kind of shaking feels more elemental than the subtle, sea-sick wobbling produced by earthquakes.
